Hameed Al Husseinie College (HAH) marked a historic comeback in the Zahira Super 16 Championship, defeating Al Ameen Maha Vidiyalaya Kinniya 1-0 in a thrilling final. In the semi-finals, the host team, Zahira College Colombo, faced heartbreak after losing a close match to Al Ameen Maha Vidiyalaya, 4-3. Meanwhile, Hameed Al Husseinie showcased their dominance, overpowering Gateway College to secure 4-3 in the Penalty their spot in the final.
The final match saw HAH dominate from the very start. They created numerous chances in the first half but were unable to convert, leaving the scoreline 0-0 at halftime.
The second half began with renewed energy from HAH, and their persistence paid off as they broke through Al Ameen’s resilient defense to find the back of the net. Despite a few half-chances for Al Ameen to equalize, HAH maintained their composure and held their lead until the final whistle.
